Quality Controlling and Marrying
Our experienced and skilled workers are responsible for all areas of production and work with the greatest of care. Nevertheless, the human touch at times produces variations, albeit in small numbers. To control any variation in consistency, our quality control staff and master blender look over every cigar in each step of the production process.

Sorting
The finished cigars are removed from the roller's tables in the gallery before being taken to the sorting room for yet another round of checking and sorting. Cigars are laid on a long table and examined by our quality control experts.

Every cigar is checked by hand for proper firmness, length, shape, overall appearance and weight. If the strict quality control guidelines are not met, the non-conforming cigars are rejected.

Random sampling is also conducted by our master blender to assure the cigar meets our standards for taste, burn and consistency. If there are cigars that do not meet the standards of the master blender in the random sample, a larger quantity is sampled for additional tests on cigars produced during that time period. If there is a problem with quality or consistency the entire batch produced over that time period is rejected.

Marrying
After sorting process, the fine cigars are bundled prior to final packaging. Every bundle has 50 cigars and are bound with simple paper. They are removed carefully and stored in a special conditioning room and packed closely together so that they have a chance to rest and 'marry', sharing their unique flavors and aroma with each other. The cigars are shelved here for three months, under ideal conditions, between 70 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees Celsius) and 72 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) temperature, and 65% to 75% relative humidity.

During this "marrying" period random taste tests are performed as a final step in our quality control process. When the cigars are certified to be ready for the consumer, they're removed from the conditioning room and sent to the packaging area.

Grading
The final step before banding is grading, where the cigars are inspected and graded by our quality control staff. Color and appearance might have changed slightly during the aging, so individual cigars in a group of 50 may be replaced with others. If a cigar's wrapper splits during the aging process, the cigar is discarded.

This step is dedicated to achieving the  perfect presentation with every Wismilak cigar.

Our graders sort them into categories to prepare for packaging. They are first sorted by leaf color from dark to light, then grouped them in bunches of 5, 10 and 25 cigars with the same color wrapper for a consistent presentation in the packaging.
